One thing that we often talk about is how quickly technology has changed. Can you remember a time before the Internet? When I was at primary school, I used to use a CD-ROM encyclopaedia to research for my homework and at the time, that was cutting-edge technology! Later, I remember backing up my coursework on floppy disks to make sure I didn't lose anything. When we first got the Internet at home, it was on a dial-up connection which of course meant that we couldn't use the landline at the same time as surfing the web.
This all seems quite hard to imagine in today's world of WiFi, smart phones, tablets and laptops, but it wasn't that long ago! These days, we can send emails, check social networking sites, read the news, take photos, play games and upload photos without even switching on a computer.
Some people feel that we are too reliant on technology, and are very wary of sharing too much information online: they are worried about issues such as hacking and identity theft. How do you feel about this?
Thinking about how much technology has changed in the past 10-20 years, what will the future look like? Have you heard of Google Glass? What other changes do you think we'll see in the next decade or two?
